Episode 2

Hobbies, Rest, and Following Jesus

Published on: 25th August, 2026

In this episode, Tyler and Zachary continue their series, “Jesus in the Everyday,” by talking about hobbies, recreation, vacations, and rest. Can Christians enjoy the good things God has given us without letting them become idols? Together, they explore how creation, relationships, hobbies, sports, and even rest can be received as gifts from God and enjoyed with gratitude. The conversation also looks at the danger of allowing good things to become ultimate things. We talk about the difference between enjoying God's gifts and worshiping them, the importance of building rest into our lives, and how Christians can learn to see ordinary moments as opportunities for gratitude. Ultimately, the challenge is simple: enjoy God's gifts, thank Him for them, and never allow the gift to take the place of the Giver.
